Cape Parrot, First Ever Footage of Most Critically Endangered Parrot Species

The Cape Parrot (Poicephalus robustus) is the most endangered bird in South Africa, and the most endangered parrot in Africa.

There are less than 1,000 remaining in the wild, restricted to small Afromontane forest patches along the south coast of Souh Africa.

“We are working everyday to save this iconic parrot species from extinction.”

“We are currently battling an outbreak of Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease that is moving through the wild population,” according to the video description.
